School Cross-Country 🏃♀️
The weather forecast for tomorrow isn't looking the best for our cross-country event. We will keep a very close eye on it and will send out a notification early tomorrow morning to let you know our plan.
- The worst-case scenario is that we may have to cancel the event entirely. If this happens, we'll use provisional practice results to select our teams for the COPS competition at Waitomo next week.
- A possible alternative is that we might choose to run the races for only our senior and middle students, depending on how the afternoon weather is looking.
We'll make the best call we can for our tamariki, and we appreciate your understanding. Here's the approximate starting time schedule if the full day goes ahead:
- Lower Junior (Rooms 8 - 11) 11:30 AM
- Upper Junior (Rooms 14 - 16) 12:00 PM
- Lunch break: 12:30 PM - 1:20 PM
- Senior (Rooms 1 - 3, 7) - 1:30 PM
- Middle (Rooms 4 - 6): approximately 1:50 PM
Board of Trustees
Firstly, a big thank you to our community for your engagement with the recent Board elections. The election was concluded without the need for a vote. I want to sincerely thank David Brown, Lauren King, and Narita Fletcher for their hard work and dedication to our school over the past few years. We are incredibly lucky to have had such committed people on our Board.
I'd also like to extend a very warm welcome to our new trustees: Pou Frew, Tracey Carter, and Jean Pu. We also have returning trustees Ben Connolly and Cara-Lee (Bubba) Hetet, alongside our staff trustee, Christie Millin making up the Board.
Looking ahead, we've got a few important dates to mark in your diaries: Wednesday, August 13th: COPS Cross Country at Waitomo. Tuesday, August 19th: Otorohanga College Open Day for Year 7 and 8 students and Friday, August 22nd: is our Teacher Only Day.
