The end of the term is fast approaching. We have Pen Assembly next Thursday at 11:15am. Feel free to come along and support our students. Next Wednesday we will be supporting Purple Day which helps raise awareness of epilepsy and to support people you know who live with epilepsy. More information can be found in this newsletter.

Please note that Term 2 resumes on Wednesday the 26th of April, the day after ANZAC Day.

The last day for winter sports (football and netball) registrations was this week. If you couldn't access the online registration forms please contact the school office ASAP. Parent support is crucial for students and teams to take part.

Our values focus is Kindness.

Our school-wide values are explicitly taught in all our classrooms and across a variety of settings.

These value lessons are also supported by our school councillors sharing messages and role-playing at assemblies, as well as value reminders over the school intercom each morning during our daily notices.

As the end of the term draws near, we are excited to celebrate our students who  have continued to exemplify all four of our values to a high standard. They will be receiving a complete KETE certificate, which will be presented at our PEN assembly, on next Thursday 6th April

 They have already received KETE certificates for each value individually, and continued to demonstrate our values as role models for others. Tino Pai!

Netball Season 2023 Fees                              

Years 1—4 programme involves a skill based session with a small sided game to follow. Please note that on the 28th April 2023, the starting time is at 3.30pm but every other Friday will start at 4pm, at the top courts of Otorohanga Netball Courts.   We need parents/caregivers to help run this programme (uniforms will not be issued to these players) Fees: $30                                                                                                   

Years 5—8 play the normal 7 on 7 version of the game. Fees: $45
Uniforms will only be issued to those students who have paid fees.

UMPIRE COUCHING
Otorohanga Netball Centre

This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in giving umpiring a go and a place for coaches and
managers to get clued up on rules. All ages are welcome. Angela Telfer will be running the day. She is a retired NZ Umpire, NZ Umpire Coach, Umpire Coach developer and Otorohanga’s Netball Centre's umpire coordinator.

Ikura|Manaakitia te whare tangata is an initiative set up by the Ministry of Education to provide free period products in all state schools across New Zealand.  The main aims of this scheme are to support whānau with the rising cost of living and to make a positive impact on student wellbeing. If you would like to opt into the scheme, please contact the school office. 

 

Many families now choose to spread the cost of the Technology fee as well as the Middle and Senior Syndicate Camps over many months by making small, regular payments to the school bank account via internet banking. These costs will be applied to your child's account early in the year and emailed to you so that you have all of the information on hand. The camp cost is not due until later in the year, but you are welcome to start making payments at any time. If you choose to take up this option, please use your child's name as a reference.
