Kia ora koutou.
The Talent Quest is on tomorrow, we have around 10 performances lined up, ranging from singing, dancing and jokes to a musical performance. It starts around 11:15am in the hall. Please feel free to come along and support our students.
Can we please ask that if you need to collect your child during the day that you come to the office and arrange it with either Sandy or Jody. We are seeing more instances where students are being collected directly from their class. They have an easy system to organise collection that a lot of our whānau are familiar with. This is to ensure that key staff are aware who has gone home as nothing is scarier than thinking that a child has disappeared!
Last week while the Year 7/8 teachers were on their literacy course in Hamilton, I taught the students how to play indoor bowls. They soon found that it requires a lot of skill, strategy and calculating to get the bowl to roll accurately and land closest to the 'jack'.
Last weekend I enjoyed watching a large group of senior students play rugby at the Island Reserve. They played really well as a team and had to make some big tackles. Unfortunately they were beaten by a better team on the day, but they know that they put in a lot of effort and showed great sportsmanship.
Enjoy your long King's Birthday weekend, and take care on the roads.
