Principal's Desk
Kia ora koutou.
Last Friday we had a team of four students represent Otorohanga South School at the Waikato Full Primary regional speech finals held at Te Uku School. Congratulations to Maz Wanden who was placed 1st in the year 8 boy's division and Fletcher Coombe who was placed 2nd in the year 7 boy's division. Maz and Fletcher will represent our school at the Waikato finals held next month - we wish them all the best.
Today we have all year 1 - 4 students, 21 parents and 13 staff attend the Hamilton Gardens as part of their 'In the Garden Study', we hope they enjoy the day out exploring the amazing gardens and taking part in the scavenger hunt. Thanks Mrs Bruce for the lovely flower gardens you created on the junior side - our students and staff really appreciate the 'pop of colour'. We have plans to create more gardens for students to enjoy - we will keep you informed.
Tomorrow night is the school disco, we have a lot of excited students and we look forward to seeing the students all dressed up and ready to dance!
Next Wednesday, 6th Sept, we have teams taking part in the COPs inter-school Mathletics competition at Kio Kio School for year 5-8 students and next Friday 8th, we have six teams representing our school in the North King Country Ripper tournament in Te Kuiti. Invitations are being given out to some students in year 5-8. We do require help with transport to this event. If you can help out please let us know on the form.
BoT news: Please note all of our school policies and procedures are available through this link to our school website. We will frequently attach one of the documents so you are aware of the important information you will find on the website, such as: how to address concerns, EOTC parent help (camps and trips) and the Community Code of Conduct for all parents, caregivers and visitors to our school or at a school event (attached).
We are sending out invitations to next week's Senior and Junior assemblies for the students who have reached Tier 2 of our KETE awards, please keep an eye out for them.
